Abe Troyer, age 89, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.
Abe was born in Sugarcreek, Ohio December 8, 1932, to the late Andrew and Mary (Schlabach) Troyer. Abe was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Delores Faith Yoder and two brothers, Albert and Mahlon Troyer.
Abe is survived by his wife Verna Rose (Gingerich) Troyer, whom he married November 15, 1956; and their five children: Daniel (Emma) Troyer of Belle Center, Miriam (David) Hochstetler of Belle Center, Martha (Steve) Yoder of Worthington, Indiana, Milton (Edna) Troyer of Belle Center, and Samuel Troyer of Belle Center; 22 grandchildren and 66 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: John Troyer of Sugarcreek, Ohio, and Andrew Troyer of Baltic, Ohio; and 2 sisters: Emma (the late Andrew) Yoder of Sugarcreek, Ohio and Mary (Abe) Yoder of Millersburg, Ohio.
Abe was a member of the Belle Center Amish Church. He was ordained to the ministry as a deacon in 1970. Abe always had a loving concern for the church, his children, and grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Steven Coblentz Residence in Belle Center and also Friday, February 4, 2022, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Steven Coblentz Residence. Bishop Marcus Schlabach will conduct the funeral Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 9 a.m. at the Steven Coblentz Residence.
Burial will be in the Belle Center Amish Cemetery.
