Beverle Joan Yoder

Beverle Joan Yoder was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on April 5, 1946, the eldest of four children born to Richard and Evelyn (Ike) Wilkins. As a daughter whose father was first a ministry student and then a lifetime railroad employee, Beverle knew various homes in her early life, all before settling in Van Buren, Ohio, where she graduated from Van Buren High School in1964. Upon entering Bluffton College following graduation, Beverle met and fell in love with fellow Bluffton College student, Robert Yoder, whom she then married resulting in the birth of her daughter, Robin, her only child. Beverle's union with Bob as husband and wife would last for 58 years until her struggle with Dementia ended her life early on Wednesday morning, May 28, 2025.

A devout Christian woman who prayed daily for the well-being of others, Beverle was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine for more than two decades before retiring from the church to pursue her faith in God more privately, a faith which she steadfastly imparted to her daughter as a way of living a meaningful and happy life. A wonderful homemaker and cook, Beverle presented a warm, beautiful and seasonally decorated home not only for her family but for other Bellefontaine families as well who came to rely upon her to babysit their children during work hours, comforted in knowing that they were leaving their children with a safe, reliable and loving caregiver and custodian.

Surviving Beverle is her husband, Bob; her daughter Robin (Dennis) Lager; her granddaughter Detrie Day Lager; her three brothers James (Ann) Wilkins, Jon Timothy (Robin) Wilkins and Rob (Melanie) Wilkins; and her many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends who are too numerous to mention.

Per the wishes of her family, private viewing and funeral services were provided with a scripture and spiritual message from Pastor Bryan Meadows.

Final resting place: Zanesfield Cemetery, Zanesfield, Ohio.
