Billy Lee Fent

Billie Lee Fent, age 92, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 5:37 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022, at The Homestead at Logan Acres in Bellefontaine.

He was born in Bellefontaine November 10, 1929, a son of the late Roy Cramer and Helen Eleanor (Whitney) Fent.

On December 23, 1949, Bill married Norma Belle (Fultz) Fent in Bellefontaine, and she preceded him in death April 27, 2000. He was also preceded in death by three siblings and their spouses, Janet (Carl) Chambers, Jim (Sharron) Fent, and Larry (Bev) Fent.

Bill is survived by two daughters, Barb Triplett, and Brenda (Dan) Shively; three grandchildren, Angie (Nick) Wallace, Troy (Amber) Shively, and Lindsey (Michael) Lee; eight great grandchildren, Allison Wallace, Nathan Wallace, Alaina Wallace, Graham Shively, Grace Shively, Aria Shively, Connor Lee, and Ryan Lee.

A 1947 Bellefontaine High School graduate, Bill served in the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corp as a corpsman and x-ray technician. He had worked as a supervisor at DAB for 42 ½ years and also worked as an x-ray technician at Mary Rutan Hospital for 16 ½ years. Bill was a long-time member of the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine and was very proud that he once served as an usher for a week at a Billy Graham crusade. He was an avid Buckeye fan and card player. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Pastor Larry Novak will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine, with visitation held one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio with military honors performed by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard.
