Carey F. Kreglow, 87, of DeGraff, passed away at 10:07 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at his home. He was born in DeGraff, Ohio on July 23, 1937, a son of the late Charles Homer Kreglow and Lois Virginia (Snyder) Kreglow.
In April 1956, Carey married Dixie Anne (Sprankell) Kreglow Campbell in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Their 17-year marriage blessed them with three children, Barbara Anne Kreglow, and Glen (Jennifer) Kreglow, both of DeGraff, and Terry Lynn Kreglow, who passed away October 16, 1988. Dixie passed away on September 23, 2017.
In addition to his two children, Carey is survived by three grandchildren, Kelli (Tom) Stephens, Kyle (Samantha) Kreglow, and Kodey (Heidi) Kreglow; nine great grandchildren, Aubrey (Peyton Scherer) Stephens, Max Stephens, Samantha Stephens, Hunter (Abigail) Kreglow, Kalin (Blake Kenner II) Kreglow, Malina (Nathaniel Mayle) Kreglow, Carter Kreglow, Adalyn Kreglow, and Amelia Kreglow; a great great grandson, Blake Kenner III; two sisters, Susie (Tom) Moncrief, and Dee Dee (Joe) Yoder; a niece, Shannon (Adam) Fischer; a nephew, Michael (Lynn) Yoder; his former wife, Pat Wildermuth and four of her children, Cheryl, Mark, Gin, Jimmy. Pat’s daughter Jackie preceded him in death.
Following his retirement from Airstream in Jackson Center with over 40 years of employment Carey transitioned to overseeing the Kreglow Family Farm. He was well respected for his service and commitment to the community. Carey served as a volunteer firefighter for the DeGraff Fire Department in the 1960’s and 1970’s, served as a deputy for the Russells Point Police Department in the 1960’s, and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office in the 1970’s. He served as a Boys Scout Master for 30 years, was past master of Bogg’s Lodge #292 F&AM in DeGraff and remained an active member of the Friendly Senior Center in Bellefontaine. Carey never knew a stranger and possessed a sense of humor that was adored by his family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards, and regardless of the outcome would always tell his family that he “won”.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff with a masonic service beginning at 1:45 p.m. Pastor Michael Mitchell of Cornerstone Fellowship of DeGraff church will officiate a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. immediately following the masonic service. Inurnment will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made, in Carey’s memory, to Five Loaves Food Pantry c/o Quincy Methodist Church, P.O. Box 46, Quincy, Ohio 43343. An organization that Carey supported for many years.
