Carole M. DeLong, age 85, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Thursday evening, March 17, 2022, at The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Carole was born in Monroe Township in Logan County July 24, 1936, to the late Pearl and Winnie (Stanley) Scott.
Carole is survived by children: Jay Scott (Sylvia) DeLong of Maryland, Shari McLaughlin and Karen (Christopher) Bailey of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren: Eric T. Easley, Megan (Zachery) Cauley, Mason (Brooklyn) Bailey, Kelly (David Bump) Jenkins, Marisa McLaughlin, Caiti (Colton Baker) McLaughlin, and Madeleine DeLong; two great-grandchildren: Emery and Caiden Cauley; two brothers: Byron (Nancy) Scott and Carmen Scott, both of Bellefontaine; and several nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Carole was employed by the City of Bellefontaine Utilities office for ten years. She then went to work for Dayton Power & Light as an administrative assistant until 1999 when the office closed. Carole then worked at Walmart Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician for 12 years. She attended her grandchildren’s school sports programs and horse riding events. In her spare time, Carole enjoyed interior decorating, caring for her lawn, and driving her 1986 Chevy Monte Carlo SS to car shows and for pleasure.
Pastor Joe Ziraldo will officiate Carole’s funeral Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 12 noon at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine, where visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10 a.m. until noon.
