Catherine A. Chamberlain, 100, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Sunday morning, November 14, 2021, at Logan Acres Senior Community in Bellefontaine.

Catherine was born in Hardin County Ohio September 5, 1921, to the late Howard Gleston and Hazel Dell (Deardorff) Titus.  She married Charles Herbert Chamberlain October 23, 1939, in Richmond, Indiana and he preceded her in death June 1, 2001.  Catherine was also preceded in death by three sisters: Vilda C. Wolever, Winona Laonta Coder and Patricia Ann Elliott and two brothers: John Charles Titus and Gleston Corwin Titus.

Catherine is survived by her son, C. Douglas (Patricia) Chamberlain of Bellefontaine; two grandsons: Todd M. (Jeff) Chamberlain of Columbus, OHio and Matthew R. (Kiki) Chamberlain of Marysville, Ohio; two great-grandchildren: Ben and Ella and many nieces and nephews.

A 1939 graduate of Monroe High School, Catherine was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine, Order of Eastern Star #459 in Bellefontaine and several camping clubs.  She was also a member of King's Daughters and the Republican Women’s Club.  With her husband Charles, they constructed and operated Bellefontaine’s first radio station, WOHP-AM and WOGM-FM.  She also worked at the Logan County Auditor’s Office as a settlement clerk.  After graduating from the Ohio Beauty Academy with her beautician and manager license, she ran Tower Beauty Center until the age of 91.   With her sisters, they formed the “Titus Sisters” and sang locally at churches and social gatherings for several years.  Catherine loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to visit with them.

Pastor Larry Novak will officiate Catherine’s funeral Friday, November 19, 2021, at 11 a.m., at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine, where visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with an Eastern Star service at 10:45 a.m.

Burial will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.

The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine is honored to serve the Chamberlain family.
