Dean Alan Baker

Dean Alan Baker, 64, of Mount Victory, Ohio passed away at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, November 25, 2021, at OhioHealth Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio.

He was born in Urbana, Ohio July 23, 1957, a son of the late Kenneth Dale and Elinor Ann (Race) Baker. Dean was preceded in death by his son, Alan Jay “AJ” just 40 minutes prior to his passing.

On November 30, 1985, he married the former Teresa (Purtee) Baker and she survives.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sisters: Beverly (Eddie) Williams, Nancy (Tim) Colchin, and Vicki (Greg) Street, a brother, Dale Baker; a sister-in-law, Bev (Purtee) Kemmere, and six brothers-in-law: Jim (Becky) Purtee, Mike (Rosemary) Purtee, Jerry Purtee, Ronnie (Tammy) Purtee, Bill (Thelma) Purtee, and Tim (Jo) Purtee.

Dean worked as a custodian at Cummins Facility Services. He was an avid Bible reader, enjoyed watching football games, playing video games, spending time with his family, and barking at his cats.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate the funeral service for Dean and for his son AJ, Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff, Ohio.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the funeral service at the Fairview Cemetery in Quincy, Ohio.

A time of food and fellowship will follow the committal service at the Quincy Fire Department. All are invited.
