Donald Eugene Short

Donald Eugene Short, 85, of Huntsville, passed away at 1:35 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born on November 25, 1936, in Montgomery County, Ohio, a son of the late Emond Buford and Bernice (Shrout) Short.

On March 29, 1958, Don married Joyce Elaine (Shroyer) Short in Dayton, Ohio and she survives, along with their three children, Dave Short, Melinda (Robert) Brown, and Joanne Vazquez; 12 grandchildren, Sky Short, Samantha Short, Brandon Short, Dustin (Renee) Wachter, Jessica Brown, Jennifer (Vince) Fernandez, Sara (Ben) Neuhardt, Daniel Brown, Paul (Bri) Brown, Alicia Nicole (Neal) Cosmo, Crystal Aubin, and Kiersten Aubin; several great grandchildren; a brother, Roger Short; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Don had worked as a dog warden and loved woodcarving. He was a member of both St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and St. Patrick Catholic Church.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
