Eleanor Ruth Knight

Eleanor Ruth Knight gained her angel wings on Friday, May 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Stanley and Esther (Towne) Thompson in Lynn, Massachusetts on August 13, 1934.

On September 27, 1998, she married Charles “Charlie” Knight, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2009. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Peter Thompson, brother-in-law, Lawrence Knight, sons-in-law: Bill Hazeltine, Steve Webb; grandsons: Micky Mattox and Ronnie Evans; great grandsons: Billy Joe Robinson and Joseph Clem.

She leaves behind her children: Sheryl Hazeltine, Sharon (Jay) Robinson, LeeRoy “Buster” (Becky) Clem, Mary Clem, Ellen (Slim) Trout, and Theresa (Don) Riley; grandchildren: Jason Dolan, Steve (Stacie) Dolan, Delia (Joseph Samuels) Evans, Angie Robinson, Bobbie Robinson, Matt (Anna) Robinson, Joseph Robinson, Michael Clem, Stanley Clem, Amanda (Josh) Lucas, Aaron (Terra) Clem, Bradley Clem, Danny Smith, Sharon (Nick) Leopold, Michelle (Kirt) Grandi, Nate Clem, Racheal Harris, Harley (Samantha) Harris, and Ashley Harris; 55 great grandchildren; 30 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Fowler and brother, David (Barb) Thompson; along with many nieces and nephews.

Eleanor worked at Westinghouse, Stage Department Store, and cooked at the American Legion for several years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, making homemade candy and she loved animals. Her favorite thing in this world was spending time with her family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Logan Acres and Universal Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care.

Rev. Debra Ketcham will officiate a funeral service for Eleanor on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N Main Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Visitation will be two hours before the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
