Frank B. Smith

Frank B. Smith, 67, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 6:09 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.

He was born November 12, 1954 in Bellefontaine, the fifth son of Phillip Morris and Bette Jean (Blair) Smith Warner.

On February 5, 1977, Frank married the former Beverly Ann Shawver in Bellefontaine and she preceded him in death August 29, 2016. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Keith Smith and an infant brother, Gary Smith.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Emily Smith of Westerville, Ohio; his son, Josiah (Johanna) Smith of West Liberty, Ohio; four grandchildren: Micah Smith, Mariska Smith, Jabari Wright, and Patience Wright;  five brothers, Larry Smith, Jerry Smith, Steve Smith, Greg Smith, and Mark (Tammy) Smith and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was baptized along with his daughter Emily on Easter Day in 1993 at the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine where he had also served as a deacon.  He worked for 48 years at several jobs, including as a steel worker, truck driver, and transportation coordinator.  He retired in January 2020 from Midwest Express Inc.  Frank enjoyed watching NASCAR and Buckeye football, grilling, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Burial will follow the funeral service at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty.

The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine is honored to serve the Smith family.
