Gary L. Nelson

Gary L. Nelson, 65, of West Liberty, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Lima, Ohio on April 12, 1957, to the late Edward and Carol (Colley) Nelson. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Nelson.

On May 30, 1981, he married the former Teresa Smith, and she survives in West Liberty.

He is also survived by his children: Casey (Nathan) Ellsworth, Kelly Nelson, and Sarah Nelson; brothers: Mark (Kim) Nelson and Mike (Krista) Nelson; a sister, Lorrie Walters, sister-in-law, Barb Nelson; stepbrother, Michael Nelson and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was a lover of music, he enjoyed making and listening to music, and also playing and fixing guitars. He was a Cincinnati Bengals fan, liked to watch NASCAR and loved to spend time with his family.

There will be a visitation held at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty, on Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Cremation will follow and there will be a private inurnment at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
