Harry "Butch" Mullins Jr.

Harry “Butch” Mullins Jr., age 81, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 8:05 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Campbell Place in Bellefontaine. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 13, 1943, to the late Harry Maxwell Sr. and Ruth (Browning) Mullins. 

On April 4, 1965, he married Linda Joyce (Scott) Mullins, and she preceded him in death on December 28, 2023. 

Butch is survived by his sons’ Chad (Rhonda) Mullins of Bellefontaine and Mike D. Mullins of Seattle; grandchildren, Taryn Mullins, Avery Mullins, and Silas Mullins; step-grandsons’ Matthew Roderick and Lucas Roderick. 

At Newark Air Force Station, Harry worked primarily on guidance systems for the Minuteman missiles. He then moved the family to Bellefontaine where he enjoyed working for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the Office of Defect Investigations located at TRC. Harry enjoyed learning all he could, especially about anything automotive. When no one else could get it, bring in Butch. 

He loved his grandchildren dearly. Although not an outwardly emotional man, his advice was sought often for the depth of thought he always gave. 

Pastor Joe Ziraldo will officiate a funeral service at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery with military rites provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
