James Lee Armentrout

On the morning of August 26, 2020, James Lee Armentrout left us to be with our Lord.  Born on July 1, 1938, he was 82.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Reed O. and Augusta Elnora (Bell) Armentrout, sister Janet M. Fultz, and brother-in-law Rod Cook.

Jim married his sweetheart, Karen Kay (Herford), on November 8, 1957, in Ridgeway, and she survives in Bellefontaine.  They had three girls whom he loved: Joanie Marie (Dan) Mudge, Carolyn Lea (Jeff) Brill, and Jennifer Lynn (Jim) Logan.  He also has seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Jim is also survived by brother Tim (Janet) Armentrout; sisters: Sally J. (John) Brugler, Julia A. Cook, and Jo Ellen (Dwayne) Bradley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was a Believer of Jesus Christ as his savior and loved the Lord.  He raised a family on their dairy farm near Middleburg, Ohio.  Jim loved farming and taught his girls the value of loving God and doing what was right.  He was involved in his church at Pickrelltown and also at Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine.  He was always there to help others when needed and to talk about the love of Jesus and talking farming.  Jim loved to cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Pastor Jeff Willetts will officiate James’ funeral on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 2pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 1140 Rush Ave. Bellefontaine, where visitation will be held from Noon until 2pm.  Due to current pandemic guidelines, we ask that you be symptom free, practice social distancing when possible, and consider wearing a mask.   Burial will be in Middleburg Cemetery.
