James "Jim" Burnside

James “Jim” Burnside, 70, went to be with his Heavenly Father, on Friday, August 26, 2022, after battling cancer.

He was born in Logan County, Ohio in 1952, the son of the late Kenneth and Marcena Burnside.

Jim leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Trudy Burnside and two sons; Jeremy and Joshua (Jessica) Burnside, three daughters, Janel (Mike) Spain, Jenifer (Thomas) Weiland, Joni (Mike) Cox, three grandchildren; Carter, Peyton, and Chloe, three brothers, Tom, Dan and Paul Burnside, three sisters; Jenny Burnside (his twin), Anita Cordell, and Patty Miller, a sister-in-law, Sharon Beltz, step grandchildren; Lee Spain and family, Leiann Spain, and Shawna Easton and family, in-laws; Ron (Deb) McCully, Becky (Jim) Vocaire, Tina (Bob) Beatty, Margie (Doug) Mosbarger, Marvin (Becky) McCully, and Amy (Jeff) Blackwell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Beltz and in-laws, Rupert and Dora McCully.

Along with a great sense of humor and quick witted, Jim had a strong work ethic, working 11 years for Conrail Railroad and then went on to a 27-year career at Honda of America Manufacturing.  His goal in life was to please his Lord, living according to Hebrews 11:5b, “he was commended as one who pleased God.”

A celebration of life service will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Burnside Family Farm.  Burial will be private in Zanesfield Cemetery.
