James W. Trout, age 64, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Saturday afternoon, February 19, 2022, at OSU-East Hospital in Columbus,Ohio.

James was born in Bellefontaine December 13, 1957, to the late Carl Elsworth and Donna June (Brandyberry) Trout.  James was also preceded in death by a sister, Deborah M. Ginn and brother-in-law, Frank Ginn.

He married Christine Hannold February 20, 1999, in Clermont, Florida, and she survives in Bellefontaine.  He is also survived by children: Jennifer (Christopher McCurtain) Beasley of Oklahoma, Heather (Jim) Cornell of New York, James (Breanna Lane) Trout II of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters: Rebecca A. (Doug) Miller of Bellefontaine, Patricia J. (Merlin) Hoffer of Huntsville, Ohio and Sue (John) Duncan of Alger,Ohio; brothers: Gary L. (Nicki) Trout of Huntsville, Bobby L. Trout of East Liberty, Ohio, Michael E. Trout of Michigan, Paul W. (Nancy) Trout of West Liberty, Ohio and Martin S. (Tammy) Trout of Bellefontaine and numerous nieces and nephews.

James worked for over 30 years as a truck driver in Florida and Ohio, many of those with Republic Waste Services.  He was also a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Logan County and Clermont, Florida. James was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons and the Antioch Shriners.  He enjoyed doing charitable work, including working with the Vets to DC and donating to Our Daily Bread.  James was always willing to give a helping hand to a person, any person.  He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and jokester.  In his spare time, James loved to ride his Harley.

The family will be holding a private celebration of James’ life at a later date.
