John Keith Houchin

John Keith Houchin, 71, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Lima Memorial Health Systems. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on August 20, 1952, to the late Robert and Alice (Turner) Houchin. 

On June 6, 1974, he married the former Ronda Parmer, and she preceded him in death on November 27, 2018. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Houchin and brother-in-law, Mike Day.

He is survived by his children: Jeremy Houchin, Jason (Alicia) Houchin, and Chad Houchin; grandchildren: Jacob (Katelyn) Lance (Aubrey), Garrison, Rayvin, Jetta, Kaci, Tyler, Jersey, and Gracie; great grandchildren: Jaxton, Raelyn, Jordyn, Beau, Chase, and Marie; brother, Greg (Ann) Houchin; sisters-in-law: Anita Day, Karen Parmer, Melanie (Brian) Geboy; brothers-in-law: Jerry (Jeannie) Parmer, Dean Parmer and Doug Parmer; and nieces and nephews: Dawn, Chris, Rob, Matt, and Denae. 

Those that really knew John knew they could find him at McDonald’s every day drinking a coffee and talking with friends. He also loved attending church at Hillcrest Baptist in Bellefontaine. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. 

Pastor Daniel McCarty will officiate a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be two hours prior from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
