Joyce B. Lyon

Joyce B. Lyon, age 75, of Middleburg, Ohio passed away Friday evening, November 6, 2020, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Joyce was born in Columbus March 1, 1945, to the late Richard A. and Goldie P. (Carpenter) Bell.

Joyce is survived by her husband, William Lyon whom she married September 9, 1967 in Columbus.  She is also survived by her daughter, Rena Lyon of Columbus; a sister, Paula (Paul) Greer of Columbus; two nephews and a niece.

A 1963 graduate of Columbus Linden-McKinley High School, Joyce earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from The Ohio State University.   She taught for more than twenty years at Ohio Hi-Point as a special education teacher.  Joyce loved to read, and was a member of the S&C Women’s Club and the Middleburg Garden Club.   She was also a member of the Middleburg United Methodist Church.

Friends may call at the Middleburg United Methodist Church in Middleburg Friday, November 13, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where Pastor Carolyn Christman will officiate Joyce’s funeral service at 1p.m.

Burial will be in the Middleburg Cemetery.
