Judith Ann Thompson

Judith Ann Thompson, 80, of Lakeview, passed away peacefully at 12:53 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at her home. She was born in Shelby County, Ohio on June 3, 1943, daughter of the late Virgil Eugene Ambos and Harriett Selma (Stahler) Ambos Mann.

On May 23, 1981, Judy married Eddie R. Thompson in Jackson Center, Ohio and he survives in Lakeview with their beloved yorkie “Maggi”. She is also survived by two sons, Greg (Deloris) Bailey, and Mitch (Dawn) Bailey; a stepdaughter, Lesli Andrews; a stepson, Cory Thompson; nine grandchildren, Heather (Troy) Huser, Joshua (Mindy) Bailey, Cedric (Elizabeth) Bailey, Derek (Meghan) Bailey, Shelbie Bailey, Dylan Thompson, Emily Thompson, Brendon Thompson, and Emily Andrews; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Beth Morris; a half-sister, Kim (Keith) Mann; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, William “Bill” Morris.

Judy retired from Schindler Elevator following 38 years of service. She was a member of both Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra, and more recently Galilee Lutheran Church in Russells Point where she served in mission work by making dresses for young children in India. Judy also volunteered her time with a local hospice group. An avid Ohio State fan, Judy enjoyed spending time outdoors mushroom hunting in Michigan, and especially loved attending the many events in which her grandkids and great grandkids participated.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike Street in Jackson Center and from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Galilee Lutheran Church, 301 Lincoln Boulevard in Russells Point, where Reverend Karen K. Torrez will officiate a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio.
