Karen Fay Jenkins, 78, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty, after being in declining health for several years.
Karen was born on October 7, 1945, in Bellefontaine to the late Irvin (Cy) Jenkins and Lois Brooks Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by sister Joyce Countryman; brother, Gary Jenkins; half-brother Gene Jenkins; brothers-in-law: Art Countryman and Earl Cox; and nephew Casey Countryman.
She is survived by sister, Joan Dowell; twin sister, Sharon Cox; and special friend, Thelma Matthews. Also, nieces: Lynn (Tony) Myers and Tiffany (Norm) Crosby and nephews: Skip Countryman, Jonathan Countryman, Todd (Ellen) Dowell, Eric Dowell, Michael (Tami) Devine, Donald (Michelle) Devine. Great nieces and nephews: Kelsey, Kyle, Myles, Alex, Garrett, Henry, Brooks, Damon, Trent, Michael, Shauna, Amber, Bethany, Carissa, and Diana.
She attended Huntsville School, Huntsville Presbyterian Church, and Zanesfield Community Chapel. She participated in activities and employment through the Logan County Dept of Disability. She loved to read (always had a book with her), eating out, watching classic TV shows, and spending holidays with family. She was passionate about cats and had several throughout her lifetime. Though born with cerebral palsy, she lived a long and active life.
Pastor Keith Matthews will officiate at a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N Main Street, Bellefontaine, with viewing one hour before from 11:00 to 12:00. Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Zanesfield Community Chapel, 4754 County Road 10, Zanesfield, Ohio 43360 or a humane society/ animal rescue of your choice.
