Kenneth E. Whisman

Kenneth E. Whisman, age 91, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully Friday, June 14, 2024, at his home. He was born January 31, 1933, in Middletown, Ohio to the late Dorothy and Wayne Whisman.

On December 29, 1957, he married Florence (Wallace) Whisman, and she survives.

Kenny is also survived by a son, Keith Whisman of Bellefontaine, a daughter, Kathy (Deb) Whisman-Allen of Tucson, Arizona; two granddaughters, Danielle Whisman of Columbus and Cortnie (Cody) Rees of Marysville; a sister-in-law, Alberta Fulkerson of Rushsylvania; and many nieces and nephews. 

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley Whisman; and several brothers-and sisters-in-law. 

Kenny retired from his 40 plus year career as a registered pharmacist and co-owner of Jamison’s Drug Store in Bellefontaine. He was a long-time active member of the First United Methodist Church of Bellefontaine. Kenny enjoyed playing golf and bridge, bowling on his church league team, traveling (including visiting 48 of the US states and several countries) and visiting with his friends and family. He graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1950 and Ohio Northern University, College of Pharmacy in 1959. Kenny was a Navy veteran and a member of the Harold Kerr American Legion Post #173 of Bellefontaine.

Pastor Joe Ziraldo will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be Thursday, one hour prior to the service from 10 a. m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
