Kyle L. Bell

Kyle L. Bell, 68, of Zanesfield, passed away at 3:19 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was born in Barnesville, Ohio on January 2, 1956, to the late Jack and Joan (Vickerman) Schafer. 

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dennis E. Bell whom she married in Bethesda, OH on January 18, 1975.
She is also survived by her daughters, Stacy (Michael) Hatfield, Elizabeth (Ben) Griffith, and Robin (Nathan) Boyd; grandchildren, Cassidy (Igor) Glushko, Madison Hatfield, Ethan Hatfield, Zachary Hatfield, Christian Griffith, Jacob Griffith, Chloe Griffith, Jordan Griffith, Kylee Bell, Connor Boyd, and Emery Boyd; sister, Kelle (Randy) Weekley; brothers, Mike (Colleen) Schafer, and Steven Schafer; and several nieces and nephews.


Kyle was raised in Bethesda, OH and graduated from Union Local High School in 1974. Following high school, she married her childhood sweetheart and began the life of a military spouse. The Air Force took Dennis and Kyle to Texas and South Carolina before they finally settled in Zanesfield, OH where they raised their three daughters. Kyle worked at Northern Floral Center before beginning her career in retail at Walmart, where she retired as a manager in 2015.


Kyle was an adventurous person that loved to travel with her family and friends. She enjoyed camping with her husband in their fifth wheel while exploring state and national parks. Among her hobbies were fishing, crafting, yard sales and flea market shopping.  The activity that brought her the most joy was cheering on her grandchildren at their various sports and extracurricular activities. Kyle was her grandkids’ biggest fan.


A Celebration of Kyle’s Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the West Liberty Presbyterian Church, 215 W. Columbus Street, West Liberty. Visitation will be two hours prior to her celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.
