Linda Lou Turner, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 19, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and generosity that will continue to warm the hearts of all who knew her.
Linda was born on October 9, 1943, and over the last 81 years touched many lives. You may have known Linda from her cherished years as the head cafeteria cook at Bellefontaine Middle School, where her meals nourished more than just bodies, they brought comfort and community. Others may remember her from her adventurous life living on base with her husband, Mike Turner, in Crete, Greece, Okinawa, Japan and many other destinations, where her warmth and hospitality followed them wherever they were stationed.
Linda touched countless lives through her homemade meals, always prepared with love, and the cozy blankets she crafted for those she cherished. She was also known for her homemade cards, which she continued making well into her final days. Two of her last cards were lovingly prepared for her grandson Tyler and great-grandson Sammy. Her creativity was matched only by her devotion to her family.
In her later years, Linda moved to Dublin, Ohio, to be closer to her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. There, she became a bright, sassy, and fiercely loving caregiver to her husband Mike, caring for him with humor and devotion until her final days. She was never quiet, never passive—her voice, laughter, and presence filled every room, and her love was always unmistakably felt.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Franklin Buckenroth and Mary Adeline Buckenroth (Beer); her brothers, Frank and John; and her son, Terry Turner.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Turner; her sister, Jacki May; her son, Scott Turner and his wife, Kathy; and her daughter-in-law, Katrina Turner. And all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Linda absolutely adored her grandchildren: Tawny Hanf and her husband Brad; Allison Turner and her wife Kim; Morgan Turner and her Fiancé Matt Sangalli; Kailyn Turner and her partner Parker Riley; and Tyler Turner. She was always loving, teaching, and guiding them throughout their lives.
She was so in love and in awe of her great grandchildren. Margo Hanf, Woods Hanf, Lucy Hanf, Noah Turner, Samuel Turner, and Nani Riley.
Linda was also a cherished aunt and cousin, roles she filled with the same warmth, generosity, and steadfast love that defined every part of her life. Her extended family always felt her support through thoughtful gestures, kind words, and her ever-present homemade touches.
Linda’s life was a mosaic of love, food, laughter, and handmade treasures. She showed her love through every act of service, every stitch, and every shared meal. Her family and friends will carry her memory forward in the meals they cook, the blankets that warm them, and the cards that brighten their days.
