Lynda Frances Ray

Lynda Frances Ray, 69, of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday morning, September 23, 2022, at Hospice of Miami County.

Lynda was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on June 11, 1953, to the late James Gearheart and Janice (Flannery) Gearheart Rogers.   She married Robert D. Ray on September 17, 2006, in Roundhead, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2020.  Lynda was also preceded in death by a son Damien Mabry; sisters Virginia Thomas, Sharon Korpi, Jackie Prewitt, and Karen Gearheart; and step-father Gene Rogers.

Lynda is survived by her daughter Amanda (Edward) Strayer of Bellefontaine; a sister Pamela Gearheart; brothers: Jim (Mary Hendricks) Gearheart, Curtis Gearheart, Dennis (Diane) Rogers, Daryle Rogers, JJ Rogers; brothers-in-law Tim Korpi and Rick Prewitt; and many nieces and nephews.

Lynda worked as a home health nurse for many years.  She loved spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and listening to classic rock or blues music.  Lynda loved doing arts and crafts, and having royal tea parties with Princess Abby.

There will be no services at this time, a celebration of Lynda’s life will be held at a later date.
