Marilyn L. Elliott

Marilyn L. Elliott, 88, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in the Mayfair Village Retirement Center, Columbus, OH.

She was born in Jefferson Township, Logan County, Ohio on March 2, 1937, the daughter of the late Lowell Francis and Indenta Romaine (Branson) Brown.

On September 4, 1960, she married the love of her life, Thomas Warren “Tom” Elliott at the New Salem Lutheran Church, and he preceded her in death on January 10, 2013. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Brown in 2020 and Roger Brown in 2025, and a great grandson, Maxwell Reed Thimmes in 2024.

She is survived by a son, Scott Lowell (Jeannie) Elliott of Wilmington; a daughter, Erika Lynn (Jon) Spears of Dublin; grandchildren, Kylinn (Corey) Thimmes, Mason (Sydnee Pickett) Coleman, Lindsay Shirk, Nichole (Wyatt) Sowders, and Dan (Melody Hannon) Spears; great-grandchildren, Bailey Jones, Elliott Thimmes, Maddox Coleman, Nyles Coleman, Wilbur Sowders, Parker Sowders, Grady Sowders, and Lilith Spears, two sisters, Mona (Bud) Eichholtz and Lylia (Lyle) Barger and a brother, Donald “Butch” (Peggy) Brown, all of Bellefontaine, and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn graduated from Zanesfield Monroe High School in 1955 and went on to Springfield City Hospital School and became a Registered Nurse in 1958. She worked as an RN for Costin Family Practice, Bellefontaine from 1964 until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of New Salem Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping with her husband, Tom, where they were members of Sunnybrook RV Camping Club – Chapter 2, and Fan Clan RV Camping Club. She also enjoyed puzzles, reading, playing cards, especially Bridge. She was dedicated to her family, friends, patients, church and community and never knew a stranger.

Pastor Tom Lentz and Rev. Paul Burgeson will officiate funeral services on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, OH 43311. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, from 4 to 7pm. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty.
