Nancy Elizabeth Peak

Nancy Elizabeth Peak, 72, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 20, 1948, a daughter of the late Thomas James and Rose Marie (Clark) Simon.

On January 14, 1967, Nancy married Michael Lee Peak in Canton, Illinois and he survives, along with their two daughters, Angie (Steve) Birt and Amy (Chad) Jones; three grandchildren, Aiden Jones, Andrew (Tricia) Birt, and Corey Birt; two great grandchildren, Leighton and Averie Birt; a sister, Judy (Aaron) McEvoy; a brother, Tim (Nancy) Simon; and a nephew Trent (Alicia) Simon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Tedd Simon.

Nancy was a graduate of Midstate Business College. Over the years she worked for K-Mart in Canton, IL and Marysville, OH., Gillespie Oil (Holder Oil), and ended her career at Green Hills Retirement Community, from where she retired in 2018. Nancy was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton for 40 years, followed by membership at the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine. She lived a life of service and was dedicated to helping others. She was well known for making delicious Rice Krispie treats.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the First Christian Church, 215 E. Sandusky Avenue in Bellefontaine, where Pastor Kevin Greenwald will officiate a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Guests in attendance will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing. Inurnment will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery at a later date.
