Norma Rose (Howell) Kritzer, 95, of Jackson Center, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Dorothy Love Nursing Home on December 9, 2022.
Norma was born May 27, 1927, in Cridersville, Auglaize County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Sim Howell and Inez Edgecomb. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Estelle Fishbaugh and Cleo Reynolds, as well as a brother, Marvin Howell.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert Gene Kritzer - and the "two became one"'. She was also preceded in death by two daughters: Sondra Sue Maley and Judy Diane Salisbury. She is survived by children of her first marriage to Paul Richard Kerns: Daughters Vicki Ann (Ron) Van Horn, Robin Roxanne (Dave) Halenda, and Sons Thomas Richard (Connie) Kerns and Randy Scott (Linda) Kerns, two sons-in-law: Robert Maley and Glen Salisbury. She is also survived by a stepdaughter, Linda (Chris) Edwards and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, plus extended family and many dear friends.
Norma attended West Minster elementary school and moved to Sidney in 1941, where she attended Sidney High School. Norma shortly worked for Frisch's Big Boy and then worked 23 years at Copelands. She was a longtime resident of Jackson Center, Ohio. She was an avid homemaker serving in the PTA; she enjoyed bowling, gardening, crocheting, and being outdoors, especially fishing with her husband. Norma was a member of the Jackson Center Senior Center Club.
Norma treasured her faith and was a devoted member of Indian Lake Community Church, Russells Point, Ohio. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and helped with many rummage sales. Bob and Norma worked with Good Sam's at ILCC preparing the meals for several years to honor church members who passed away.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Indian Lake Community Church, 121 Orchard Island Road, Russells Point, Ohio 43348.
A memorial celebration commemorating Norma's life will be conducted by Pastor Jim Ellington on December 17, 2022, at Indian Lake Community Church at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following, there will be a gathering in the Lighthouse Hall for a luncheon and to celebrate memories. The service will be live streamed on the church website, www.indianlakecommunitychurch.org.
In lieu of flowers, Norma and the family is requesting that donations be made to the Indian Lake Community Church Building Fund.
