Rebecca Anne Drummond Longbrake, “Grandma Becky”, went to be with her Lord and to be reunited with her many family members on December 3, 2022.
Becky was born on June 8, 1945, to the late Harry and Flora (Burkett) Drummond. She was also preceded in death by a brother John Drummond, two sisters Mary Arlene Beck and Clara Lee Martin and their husbands.
Becky is survived by two sons: Joseph (Cathy Nicholl) Gill and Scott (Bobby) Gill; five grandchildren: April Gill, Ashley (Ryan) Shields, Jamie Gill, Trent (Larissa) Nicholl, and Kelsie (Zach Prater) Nicholl; great-grandchildren: Phoenix, Jaxon, Easton, Max and Paetynn; a brother Sam Drummond; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Becky graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and the University of Dayton with a Master’s degree in counseling. She was a teacher for 30+ years and loved every child she taught. After retirement and missing the children, Becky did substitute teaching and tutoring to be with children. She also enjoyed volunteering at Head Start.
Becky loved having her whole family around her table for family night and enjoyed watching the grandchildren in their various activities. Another enjoyable activity was traveling. She and her best friend, Susan Wyckoff, traveled to many places and had many stories to tell. A member of the First Lutheran Church, Becky enjoyed working with others in many church activities.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 208 W Sandusky Ave, Bellefontaine, OH 43311. Pastor Larry Novack will officiate a celebration of her life following visitation on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, Ohio, on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 12:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan County Education Foundation, 121 S Opera Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio, 43311.
