Richard Frank Mally, 94, of West Liberty, passed from this life on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at his home.
He was born in Longmont, Colorado, on August 22, 1930, to the late John Anthony Mally and Clara Elizabeth Mally.
In 1990, he married Janet Yoder Erickson, and she survives, along with his children, Valerie (Ed) Gossert, Richard II (Jennifer) Mally, Erin (Chris) Laubhan, Sharon (Al) King, and Karen (Gary) Anderson. Valerie lives in Arizona, and the others in Colorado. Also surviving are three Erickson stepchildren, and their families, as well as his seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one sister.
A member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, Ohio, Richard cherished his relationship with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and his wish is for his family, friends and everyone to know God’s grace and his gift of our Savior.
During his working years, he was employed by the Great Western Sugar Company. Richard held many different positions during his years at Great Western in the accounting department. In addition, he held the position of treasurer of Regis Jesuit High School, where he met his wife, Janet. All of his work centered in the Denver, Colorado area. He was treasurer and longtime active member of the West Liberty Lion’s Club. Richard loved his Lion’s Club and all the good work they performed helping others in need.
Richard requested to be cremated and his remains to be buried in Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont, Colorado next to his parents.
A private Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine at the convenience of the family.
