Robert "Steve" Park

Robert “Steve” Park, 81, of Urbana, passed away at 7:36 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born in Urbana on April 10, 1941, to the late Robert and Lorraine (Henderson) Park. On June 17, 1967, he married the former Vicki Hale, and she survives. They were married over 55 years.

He is also survived by three children: Charles Park, Sam (Melanie) Park, and James Park; three grandchildren; Robert W., Eliana A., and Anderson S. Park; two sisters: Christy Park and Rosella Sagall and several nieces and nephews.

Steve started at a young age working in the family seed corn business, Park Seed Farms. Over the years he ran detasseling crews, drove truck, worked sales and any other job that needed done. He was a 1959 graduate of Urbana High School. While attending The Ohio State University and after graduation he served in the United States Army Reserves. Steve decided to change careers after graduation and took a job teaching math at Triad Local Schools where he taught for 30 years. When his children were young, he enjoyed working a second job installing cable television throughout Urbana and Xenia.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 1525 Mennonite Church Road in West Liberty, where Pastor Alex Dye will officiate a celebration of life service at 6:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 1525 Mennonite Church Road, West Liberty, Ohio 43357.
