Sara "Jane" (Maxwell) Klopfenstein, 84, of Jackson Center, went to her heavenly rest on December 17, 2023 in Sidney, OH. Jane was born on June 18, 1939 to the late Max and Cleona (Hone) Maxwell.

 On December 1, 1968, Jane married George Klopfenstein who preceded her in death on November 26, 2015.

Jane is survived by 4 children: Eldon (Mary) Poppe of Indiana, Wayne (Dawn) Poppe of Oklahoma, Cindy Pulfer of Sidney, Amy (Austin) Regula of Wapakoneta and a step son, Craig Klopfenstein of Sidney, and a son-in-law, Ric VanHorn of Tennessee. A daughter, Connie VanHorn and a son-in-law, Tom Pulfer preceded her in death.

She was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Brigette, Breanne, Brandie, Nicole, Ashley, Heather, Bryan, Josh, Jaycie, Jeremy, Isaac, Alexis, and Carson. She also had 17 great grandchildren. She also had 2 special girls from baby sitting days that she considered part of the family, Kaylee Copeland and Kasey (Copeland) Gadsby.

Jane is survived by her sister, Becky (Dan) Holloway, and sisters-in-law, Gill Maxwell and Paula Maxwell. Preceding her in death were her brothers Bill Maxwell, Bob Maxwell, and Kenny Maxwell.

Jane graduated from Jackson Center High School in 1957. She was employed in the Jackson Center School Cafeteria, The Jackson Center IGA, and did a lot of babysitting. She loved children and very easily won their hearts. She was a member of the Jackson Center Methodist Church but in later years she enjoyed attending Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center with Amy and her family.

Jane loved to do cross stitch and crochet. She spent much time making scarves to give away at Christmas time. She enjoyed going to the fair and watching her grandchildren show steers. She also enjoyed attending any and all other activities they were involved in, including their sporting and musical events. She was blessed with two wonderful friends, Kathy and Glenna, who were both supportive and instrumental in keeping her active and social. Jane was a very loving, giving person who will be missed by anyone who knows her.

Pastor Bert Schultz will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Grace Lutheran Church, 607 S Main Street, Jackson Center, Ohio 45334. Visitation will be Friday, December 22, 2023, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service Saturday in New Loramie Valley Cemetery, Botkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Health Hospice, 1083 Fairington Dr, Sidney, OH 45365.
