Sheryl Morris, 91, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 8:28 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at her home in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born on February 21, 1931, at 119 S. Madriver Street in Bellefontaine, Ohio, a daughter of the late Hamer Brunner and Grace Irene (Teets) Fuson.
On December 27, 1951, Sheryl married Karl Ellis Morris in Marysville, Ohio and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Suzanne Morris, and her sister and brother-in-law, Madeline and Warren Post.
Sheryl is survived by her three sons, Steven Karl (Deb) Morris, Mark Alan (Sandra) Morris, and John David (Lori) Morris; five grandchildren, Claire Morris, Chelsea (Darren) Farmer, Justin (Jessica) Morris, Aaron Morris, and Megan (Brian) Salem; six great grandchildren, Adelyn Salem, Mathew Salem, Ellieanne Salem, Taylor Salem, Nora Farmer, and Colton Farmer.
Sheryl began dating Karl, whom she affectionately called “K”, at the age of sixteen during her sophomore year. While in high school, Sheryl became a member of the Bellefontaine United Methodist Church, where she maintained her membership for 75 years. Following graduation, she attended Bowling Green State University. In February of 1952, while Karl was in the U.S. Air Force, he and Sheryl made their first home in Biloxi, Mississippi. Following Karl’s discharge four years later, the couple moved back to Bellefontaine and Karl built their family home in 1957 on the Morris family farm. Sheryl’s family was her whole life, and she was devoted to raising their three sons and later helped with the grandchildren. She dearly loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Later in life Karl and Sheryl bought a waterfront home at Indian Lake. She loved remodeling and updating both of their homes, and especially going to their Shawnee Island home where they would have cookouts, boat, and entertain family and friends.
Sheryl was a self-proclaimed people person who possessed a great sense of humor, was very shy, but never met a stranger. She loved flowers! When she was younger, she enjoyed working in her yard, knitted, and counted cross-stitch, making crafting items to sell at the Fall Festival at Indian Lake, and tracing her family genealogy. She was able to trace her father’s family at least ten generations back.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N.
