Shirley A. Pruett-Hilliard, 54, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2009, in her residence. She was born in Bellefontaine on February 20, 1954, to Carl Lyon of Bellefontaine and the late Glenna Hower Lyon. On October 6, 2001, she married Jerry W. Hilliard in Bellefontaine, and he survives.

She is survived by her brothers; Michael (Laura) Lyon of Bellefontaine, and Jerry (Susie) Lyon of Zanesfield, Ohio; step-sons, Jeremy (Jill) Hilliard of Russells Point, Ohio, and Nevin Keith Hilliard of Bellefontaine; step-grandchildren, Taylor Lugar, Jacob Hilliard and Halley Hilliard; mother-in-law, Alice Ann Pruett of Bellefontaine; two nieces and one nephew. She is preceded in death by her mother and her first husband, Ennis Pruett, whom she married on September 30, 1978, and he passed away on March 24, 1988; and a nephew, Scott Lyon.

A devoted Christian, Shirley attended the McKee’s Creek Chapel in West Liberty and worked diligently for West Liberty Cares Food Pantry. She was a 1972 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School and a 1973 Graduate of the Columbus Business School. Shirley was an avid cat lover and enjoyed collecting cook books.

Calling hours are scheduled for Tuesday, January 13, 2009, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.

Pastor Floyd Lundy will conduct the funeral service on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Burial will be in the Huntsville Cemetery.
