Stanton Lee Walker, 66, of West Liberty, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at his residence.
He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio April 22, 1955, the son of the late Jean Ann (Saltz) Walker. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lori Ann Walker.
He is survived by his caregiver, Tangeala Bevens as well as life-long friends Kip Louden, John Dale Esch and Steven Fansler.
Stan was a staple in the West Liberty community for many years and was known for making his rounds around town each morning. He was the town weatherman, always sharing with everyone what to expect for the weather each day. He was a big sports fan and could quote statistics of his favorite teams and players. He also enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart and Billy Graham on television and each day he played “How Great Thou Art” and “I’ll Fly Away” on You Tube. He assisted at the West Liberty Fire Department with various tasks and would help the West Liberty Council with raising and lowering the flag each day. He worked washing, waxing and detailing vehicles in West Liberty for fifteen or so years.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
Burial will be private at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
