Suzan J. Schrader, age 80, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Saturday morning, October 17, 2020 at Logan Acres Senior Community in Bellefontaine.
Suzan was born in Bellefontaine December 23, 1939, to the late Gerald J. and Ida Lee Belle (Reynolds) Norris. She married Ralph Schrader September 1, 1962 in Bellefontaine, and he preceded her in death June 13, 1988.
Suzan is survived by her children, Christopher (Michelle) Schrader of West Virginia, Jacob (Sarah) Schrader of Rushsylvania, Ohio and Debbie (Andy) Reebel of LaRue, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Brock Moon, Kylee Bednarki, Beckey Schrader, Robyn Hightower, Ian Schrader, Christian Downing, Makayla Schrader, Alice, Patrick and Tess Schrader; three great-grandchildren, Jennings Bednarki, Liam Moon and Gentry Bednarki and a brother, G. Bruce (Louise) Norris of Bellefontaine.
A 1957 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Suzan worked beside her husband for many years as they operated Schrader’s Office Machines and Supplies in downtown Bellefontaine. She had also worked as a state licensed child-care provider and provided loving care to many children over the years. Suzan enjoyed going to craft shows. Spending time with her family – especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren – was dear to her heart. Suzan was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine and was active in Sunday school, worship services and the Martha Circle of United Methodist Women. As a breast cancer survivor, she devoted many hours to the Reach for Recovery program helping other women cope with the rigors of breast cancer. Suzan was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and was active in Bellefontaine’s Beta Zeta chapter.
Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine Thursday, October 22, 2020, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Pastor Joe Ziraldo will officiate Suzan’s funeral Friday, October 23, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
