Turner Joshua "TJ" Esser

Turner Joshua “TJ” Esser, 21, of Jackson Center, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Mercy Health Urbana Hospital in Urbana, Ohio. He was born on March 22, 2001, in Sidney, Ohio, a son of Brad and Candee (Metz) Esser.

TJ is survived by his parents; siblings, Peyton Esser and Xavier Esser; maternal grandparents, Larry & Joanie Metz of Sidney; and maternal great grandmother, Maxine Metz of Jackson Center along with a multitude of Aunts, Uncles, cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Darrell & Cathy Fogt and paternal grandparents, Herbert & Mary Lynne Esser.

TJ was employed at Lacal Equipment in Jackson Center. He was a 2019 Jackson Center High School graduate, a member of St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church and had a strong belief in helping others by being an organ donor. TJ was a lover of people and children flocked to him. He had the biggest heart and always a smile and hug to give. He loved his family deeply, but his joy was found in golfing, fishing, playing basketball and softball with his loyal friends.

The family will receive friends from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church, 607 S. Main Street in Jackson Center. Pastors Bert Schultz and David Sanders will officiate a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the church. Burial will follow in New Loramie Valley Cemetery in Botkins, Ohio.
